IMPORTANT: DO NOT POINT THIS TELESCOPE OR ANY OPTICAL PRODUCT TOWARDS THE SUN AS IT WILL RESULT IN EYE DAMAGE!
Affordable beginner’s telescope powerful enough to show you the craters on the Moon, the Orion Nebula or the Pleiades (Seven Sisters)! Easy to operate for children.
The huge diameter of 80mm is highly desirable as a beginner’s model. Images would appear much brighter compared to those seen through 60mm or 70mm telescopes. The stainless steel tripod is stronger and steadier than many competing models which only offer unstable aluminium tripods.
Can also be used for land observation during the day.
McGill’s Opinion:
This telescope is good for basic stargazing at low magnification of less than 50x. The supplied camera tripod is suitable for observing slow-moving objects such as the Moon or ships at a distance. You may be able to spot bright planets in the night sky such as Jupiter and Saturn but these will be tiny and challenging to observe due to the nature of mount/tripod supplied. At this price point, the telescope optics performs reasonably well.
Simple and easy-to-use beginner’s telescope which allows you to observe bright night sky objects. You will be amazed by pictures of the Moon taken with your smartphone via the supplied phone adapter!
